Fink's Next Move

He wiped the oil from his hands as approached his desk. He let out a long sigh as he climbed into his chair and took up his pen.

My friends,

The incident with Dolraan has affected me more than I cared to admit. I feel I had failed him, and I would do anything to get him back. While this does not excuse my actions, I hope it does help to explain them.
My actions in our investigation were unacceptable. I let Anatevka’s baiting get the better of me. Dolraan would be very disappointed in me, as are all of you, I’m sure.

I’m writing this in way of a formal apology, as well as an assurance of my stability going forward. I’ve had some sessions with Vasily, and he can vouch for me as well. I’ll be continuing to visit him on a regular basis to ensure the continued stability of my mental state.
While I know this is not enough to fully excuse my actions, I hope this begins us down the right path, and that we can all continue to work together again.

Best regards,

Finkswitch Butterpants III

He folded the paper neatly and put it in the pile for his assistant, then walked to a nearby bookshelf. Looking over the titles, smiling a little as his fingers hovered over “Pillars of Fire”, until he found a copy of “Ferrocog’s Treatise on the History of Gnomish Innovation and Pastry” and pulled it from the shelf. A soft click sounded behind the shelf as it smoothly shifted to the side, revealing the small room hidden behind. The lights flickered on as he entered, revealing a variety of tools and machines. At the end, the spotlights flashed to life over a table with a humanoid form. He walked over to the table and looked over his work.

“Don’t worry, Dolraan… I’ve got a backup plan… I’ll save you, I promise…”
