Firie - I'd be alright with that. The person that spoke after you succeeded on the check, though, so it's a minor point.

I'd hazzard a guess that folks are following Kendra, or that's being assumed, if that's what you mean.

Lawlz.  CeeRee is strength.

I'd like to cheat a bit here to help speed things up.  You'll be picking a card next - choose a number between 1 and 9 where 1 is the card farthest to your left and 9 is to your right.

(Music) Congratulations!

(Music)

Congratulations!  You've just gotten through a Choosing!

Each of the cards you've drawn as part of The Choosing will represent a super special power you now have in your pocket!  It's a one time use ability that will sit with you until you use it or the campaign comes to an end.  Keep it in mind, because the only thing worst than a power used at the wrong time is a power that's never used at all!

The power you receive is detailed in the Carrion Crown Player's Guide. Each card represents TWO powers, depending on the alignment and the Attribute attached to the card.  Since this is your first Harrowing, I'll be detailing what you've received here.  You can always ask me if you have any questions about the specifics of the card or if you need a refresher.  In the future, feel free to look up the cards on the Carrion Crown Player's Guide as well.

ORIN - The Mountain Man:

  • Constitution:  You can spend a the card on your turn to get an extra standard action or move action
  • Chaotic Neutral:  You gain the effects of a rage spell for 1 round + an additional round per 3 levels.

BANAKIL - The Sickness

  • Constitution: Same as Orin
  • Neutral Evil: You channel negative energy, dealing 1d6 x Character level damage to a creature touched, and healing an undead creature by the same amount.

OBOE - The Joke

  • Intelligence: You can recall one spell or limited-use ability (Like bardic performance) that would otherwise recharge on a daily basis
  • Chaotic Good: You receive a +4 CMB check to avoid or escape a grapple, or a +4 on an Escape Artist check.

CEEREE - The Forge

  • Strength: You get a bonus to any D20 roll.  If used before a D20 is rolled, you get a +8.  If used after, it's only a +4.  Similarly, if you can somehow affect the outcome of another person's roll (Distracting a monster while someone else attacks, being encouraging, etc.), you can provide a bonus to another person's D20 roll.  This bonus is cut in half if used on someone else, however.
  • Lawful Neutral:  +10 to a single Sense Motive check.

Lute - The Locksmith

  • Dexterity:  Immediately take your turn, as if you had readied an action.  You can only make a standard action or a move action for that turn.  Your initiative shifts to whenever you play this card.
  • Lawful Neutral:  +10 to sense motive.

Ariam - The Midwife

  • Wisdom:  If you feel stuck in the adventure at some point, you can play the card to petition me for a hint.  If, for whatever reason, I don't want to give you a hint, you still keep the card.
  • Neutral Good:  You can touch a person and channel 1d6 x Level positive energy.  This will heal people and harm undead people.

FYI, Henii - Continual flame

FYI, Henii - Continual flame costs 50 gold pieces to cast.  If you're just looking to light the lantern for flavour, I won't worry about the cost this time.  If you're looking to make a permanent light source, it'll cost you.

I dunno if it's different in

I dunno if it's different in Pathfinder but I think I remember Drogar saying that spell-like abilities don't have reagent costs. It came up when I was discussing different powers and junk when making Ariam.

EDIT: Yeah, thats my bad. I forogt to put on my sheet that Continual Flame replaces my Day Light spell like ability since I went with Archon-Blood aasimar.

Oh ho!  I was going by the sheet and assumed you were casting a spell.

Man, that could lead to hilarious hijinks.

Orc1: Let's go pillage the town!

Orc2: Nah, can't.  Someone already beat us to it.  It's already on fire.

Orc1:  Wasn't it on fire yesterday too?

Orc2:  Villages burn slow?

The trap is stated to already be inert due to spell conditions being met.  No need to disarm it.

No one actually said the trap is inert so how is Arian supposed to know? She's not the one handleing it.

In line with Henii's

In line with Henii's post:

Keep in mind that anything I tell you as part of a reply to a skill check will not be something the entire party knows.  In a campaign like this, it would be foolish to automatically relay any information you know without thinking.

Even if you do trust the members of your party (and that could be a mistake!), there's always the possibility of an undesirable listening in.  This is definitely the kind of campaign where knowledge is power.  To keep that power in your hands, it's up to you to say what you're telling people and what you're keeping to yourself...
